Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TryLook collects, uses, and protects information when you use the TryLook mobile application and related websites.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use TryLook, we may collect:
- Account and authentication information, such as identifiers used to sign in or restore app access.
- Photos and inputs you choose to upload or capture for style previews.
- Generated results, saved-look metadata, selected categories, and app preferences.
- Purchase, subscription, and entitlement status handled through the App Store and subscription infrastructure.
- Device, diagnostics, analytics, crash, notification, and app performance information.
- Messages you send to us for support, legal, or account-related requests.
Face Data and User Photos
TryLook collects photographs that users voluntarily capture or select for the purpose of creating AI-powered style previews. These photographs may contain the user's face and visible facial characteristics. TryLook does not collect Face ID data, TrueDepth data, depth maps, faceprints, facial recognition templates, facial embeddings, or other biometric identifiers, and it does not use photographs for facial recognition, identity matching, identity verification, advertising, tracking, or profiling.
Submitted photographs are transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection and temporarily stored in Cloudflare R2 Object Storage. They are used only to create the style preview requested by the user. Uploaded photographs are retained for a maximum of 15 minutes and are then automatically and permanently deleted from cloud storage.
Users may optionally keep up to five recent photographs in TryLook's local application cache. These photographs are stored only on the user's device. When a sixth photograph is saved, the oldest cached photograph is automatically removed. Users may immediately remove all locally cached photographs at any time by selecting Delete Photos in the app. Locally cached photographs may also be removed when the app is uninstalled or when the operating system clears the application cache.
Generated previews may be kept in the app's local cache and, after the user grants permission, saved to the user's device photo library. A copy saved to the device photo library remains under the user's control and can be deleted through the device's Photos app. Generated images are previews only and may not perfectly reflect real-world results.
You should only upload images you have the right to use. Do not upload images of another person without permission.
How we use information
We use information to operate the app, authenticate users, generate previews, deliver purchases, send relevant notifications, troubleshoot issues, respond to support requests, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.
Service providers and sharing
Submitted photographs may be processed by Cloudflare, as our object storage provider, and by our AI processing providers solely on our behalf and only as necessary to create the preview requested by the user. We do not authorize these providers to use face data for their own advertising, tracking, profiling, facial recognition, identity verification, or general-purpose AI model training. We do not sell face data or share it with data brokers, advertising networks, RevenueCat, analytics providers, Firebase Messaging, or other unrelated third parties.
Other information may be shared with vendors that help us operate TryLook, including Firebase services, analytics, crash reporting, messaging, and purchase management services such as RevenueCat. These providers process relevant information on our behalf or according to their own platform rules, but they do not receive submitted face photographs unless they are acting as a provider specifically described above.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
Data retention
Photographs submitted for a style preview are stored in Cloudflare R2 Object Storage for no longer than 15 minutes and are then automatically and permanently deleted. TryLook does not maintain a permanent server-side library of submitted face photographs.
Optional on-device copies are limited to the five most recent user photographs and remain in the app's local cache until the user deletes them, an older photograph is replaced after the five-photo limit is reached, the app is uninstalled, or the operating system clears the cache. Copies saved separately to the device photo library remain until the user deletes them through the device's Photos app.
We keep other non-photo information for as long as needed to provide TryLook, maintain purchases and account records, resolve disputes, prevent misuse, and meet legal requirements.
Your choices and rights
You may manage app permissions, notifications, subscriptions, and saved content through your device settings, App Store account, or the TryLook app. You may immediately delete photographs in TryLook's local cache by selecting Delete Photos. Copies saved to the device photo library can be deleted through the device's Photos app. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information.
Children
TryLook is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
